Following a very successful season, Grantham Cricket Club is already making plans for 2015.

In exciting times at Gorse Lane, the club’s first XI won the Premier Division title in the South Lincolnshire and Border League, battling hard throughout the season to finish five points clear of second placed Boston.

They will next season play at the county’s top level of cricket – the Lincolnshire ECB Premier League.

And in preparation for next season’s promotion, Grantham CC’s head coach Mark Fell is already planning the team’s winter training.

Not to be outdone, Grantham CC’s second string were also champions and will replace the first XI in the South Lincs and Border League Premier next season after they finished top of Division One.

In total, Grantham CC runs three Saturday and two Sunday teams, as well as one that plays midweek evening fixtures.

Junior squads run at under-9, under-11, under-13 and under-15 age groups, alongside a strong girls’ squad which has players aged seven to 15.

Also, ladies training began this summer as the club has a view to entering a women’s league next season.

With preparation for next season already underway, and indoor training planned to start in November, anyone interested in joining the club for next season should contact club secretary Jo Green on 07885 283548 or email
