CRICKET: Grantham lose to Spalding in single surviving fixture

Have your say

JUST one game was played in the South Lincolnshire and Border League Division One on Saturday after heavy rain once again soaked cricket pitches – and again it was Grantham who were involved.

Having lost to Stamford in the only other game played this season, the Gorse Lane team went down to Spalding despite the efforts of skipper Gareth Bennett with an unbeaten 50.

Grantham made 141 but Matt Hendry’s 71 helped Spalding to a seven wicket win.
