Bottesford Sunday first team travelled to Ashby Carington 2ndsthis week and once again captain Ian Seymour kept with the policy of selecting as many young players as possible.
Bottesford won the toss and elected to bat first, and although the outfield was damp, the pitch was remarkably dry given all the rain this season.
Danny Barratt (19) and Ryan Charlesworth (17) opened the batting and the early exchanges favoured the bowlers, but then Danny and Ryan soon got on top.
After 20 overs, they had put on 99-0 with Ryan 50no and Danny 42no.
Refreshed after a drinks break, Ryan smashed his way to a maiden century 105 which included six sixes and 12 fours. Danny made 86 including thirteen fours, and the partnership of 150-0 was the best for some years at Bottesford for two lads under 20 years old.
Bottesford made 244-6 from 40 overs.
Tight bowling from Alfie Morley (15) and Ben Gregory (15), who took two wickets apiece, was supported by Aaron Charlesworth (14) and Josh Beeston (14) who kept the score down, with Ashby finishing on 192-7 from their 40 overs.
