Cricket fans have the opportunity to see a Duchess of Rutland XI take on the MCC next week.
The match is taking place at Knipton Cricket Ground on Tuesday, July 8, beginning at 12.30pm.
It is the fifth year the Duchess has hosted the MCC at Knipton, and the game will be followed by a grand dinner for MCC members and guests in the Belvoir Castle state dining room.
Star players for the Duchess’s side will be former England and Nottinghamshire stars Graeme Swann and Darren Bicknell, the latter now being director of Belvoir Castle Cricket Trust. Also playing will be former England and Lancashire player John Crawley, now director of cricket at Oakham School, and ex-Middesex and England man Jamie Dalrymple.
The MCC team will include Rob Turner, formerly England and Somerset, and ex-Derbyshire players Kevin Dean and David Adams. Celebrity ballroom dancer and TV presenter Anton du Beke makes his return and there are rumours of an appearance by Andy Jordan, from Made in Chelsea, who is a former junior cricket star.
Admission to the match is free and spectators are advised to bring their own deckchairs.
