CYCLING: Good turnout for Grantham club time trial

The third round of Witham Wheelers’ 10-mile time trial league saw a good turnout of 45 riders, with two juniors leading the way.

Karl Baillie posted a rapid 22min 22sec to take top spot and runner-up Reece Egner was almost half a minute further back. A further 30 seconds down was Gary Symons.

First lady was Lara Thornhill in 27:20 from Carol Milne and Natalie Eastaugh.

There were 10 personal best times on the night, with Donna White improving by almost a minute. In the veterans’ competition, Michael Smalley consolidated his first place with a +3.09.

The fourth round of the handicap league takes place on Gorse Lane on Tuesday evening. Signing on is from 6pm at Grantham Cricket Club. All welcome.
