Grantham rider Peter Cocker (Forme Bikes UK) won the main 2/3/4 category race from a breakaway.

Triathlete Patrick Cutmore finished 10th in only his second road race. Charlotte Colclough (Team CTC) won the ladies’ race and James Carter was third in the under-16s.

The next event in the Pedalpushers Series is at Newark Showground on April 27 before returning to Barkston Heath on June 1.

l Witham Wheelers juveniles Karl Baillie and Reece Egner rode the ACT Easter Monday track day at Manchester Velodrome.

Contesting the youth races, Karl was third in the 12-lap scratch race, and fifth in both the course des primes and the elimination race. He finished in the bunch in the unknown distance race and an excellent fourth in the 50-lap points race.

Suffering from a cold, the less experienced Reece enjoyed a good day’s racing, finishing in the bunch in most races and putting in some good attacks in the points race.
