DARTS: Grantham league awards presented by former England international

Grantham Men’s Singles Darts League held its presentation night and Jeff Wise Open competition at Gonerby Social Club last Friday.

Awards were presented by John Stanton, president of Lincolnshire County Darts Association and a former BDO England international player.

League runner-up Mark Blackwell.

Winner of the league Mick Taylor was presented with the John Bullen Shield. His winter-long battle with Mark Blackwell saw him win by one point in the last leg of the season. Mick also picked up the highest finish award with his 170 checkout.

John Baker was third, Rich Selby fourth and Dave Lambley fifth.

Victors in the doubles were Alan Spencer and Ben Thorpe, ahead of runners-up Dan Warrington and Kev Leadenham.

Dave Andrew threw 18 maximums throughout the season to claim the Most 180s Award.

The Jeff Wise Open attracted a field of more than 40 players, with Mick Taylor triumphing over Anton Luczak by three legs to one in a very closely contested final.
