DARTS: Top team trophy for Lord Harrowby A in Grantham Friday League

Grantham Friday Night Darts League held its annual presentation & finals night at the Railway Club last Friday evening.

The trophies were presented by Lynda and John Senior, of the Lord Harrowby, and compere for the night was Dave Pearson.

A League winners were Lord Harrowby A, the runner- up being Electric Club B. Team Knockout Cup winners were Electric Club B and runners -up were Lord Harrowby A.

B League champions were the White Lion with the Stagger Inn runners-up. B League Team Knockout Cup was won by the Lord Harrowby B and the Five Bells were runners-up.

A new plate competition was introduced this season, donated by John Senior, which was won by the Billiard Club. The Westgate Club came second.

The Men’s Singles was won by Alan Dennis who beat Spud Taylor, whilst the men’s doubles victors were Spud and Daniel Jones. Runners-up being Ryan Hare and Matt Thulborn.

The Ladies’ Singles was won by Elaine Prince, beating Marie Jones, and the Ladies’ Doubles saw Maz Yates and Helen Makin triumphant, with Elaine Prince and Marie Jones in second.

Mixed Doubles victors were Spike Carr and Elaine Prince and runners-up were Dave Watson and Sam Priestley.

The A League 180 Trophy was won by Phil Dodwell and the highest finish trophy was claimed by Andy McEneany with 127.

Pete Chestr lifted the B League 180 Trophy was won by Pete Chester and the highest checkout trophy went to Rose Turner with 120.

The annual meeting for the above league will be held at the Railway Club on Friday, August 7, starting at 8pm.
