An equestrian team from KGGS enjoyed double success in a National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) event at Keysoe in Bedfordshire last Sunday.

Four students – Julia Mann, Lena Proctor, Lily Walker and Lucy Moore – represented the school at the National Plate Championships, having gained regional points throughout the year. The teams who were placed third or fourth got to compete for this award.

Ten teams teams in total from around the country competed and the KGGS girls put in four fantastic double clear rounds and excellent jump off times against the clock. This resulted in the four girls winning the National Championship Plate.

Also, on the same day, NSEA were running a Royal Windsor Qualifier for 2017. Fourteen schools from around the country competed for the qualifying place.

Once again, the KGGS quartet jumped four superb rounds in a day to be remembered, finishing on a team score of zero, to be awarded first place and qualification for the Royal Windsor Horse Show – for the second successive year.

The team expressed their gratitude to Mrs Turner, from KGGS, for her support and for organising these competitions for them. They hope to be able to bring home some rosettes from Royal Windsor in May.
