Experience sees Lucy continue to improve

Lucy Bridle.
Lucy Bridle.

Lucy Bridle was the lone Cliffedale Chandlers table tennis cadet player in action at the Burton Uxbridge Junior 1 star competition at the weekend.

Lucy performed very well against a high standard of opposition. She had a couple of tough groups in the under 11s and under 13s girls sections.

She made her opponents work overtime for their victories, taking most of them to five-set matches,

Dad Tim Bridle, who is also the club’s development officer, saw many positives in her play, but also identified weaknesses which shall be worked on alongside other improvements, not just to Lucy’s game but also with other cadet players at club.

Her next competition is the Cliffedale Chandlers Junior 2 star, held at South Kesteven Sports Stadium on Saturday.

Spectators are welcome and entry is free.

Play gets under way at 8.45am and continues throughout the day.
