FOOTBALL: Grantham ‘legends’ will meet in charity game at Meres

A charity football match is between Grantham Town Legends and Harrowby United Legends is being staged at The Meres stadium on Saturday, May 2.

The game is in aid of three-year-old Alana Mills who is underoing chemotherapy for leukaemia at Queen’s Medical Centre. Organisers are hoping to raise enough money to help Alana fulfil her dream of going to Euro Disney.

Managed by Nick Andersen, players confirmed for the Grantham Town side are Mario Ziccardi, Wayne Hallcro, Adrian Speed, Danny Hargreaves, Jamie Clarke, Dom Revill, Diddy Gilbert, Brendan McDaid, Stuart Reddington, Jamie McGhee, Rhys Lewis, Rob Norris, Mark Foster and Billy Stubbs.

Harrowby’s Legends will include Jay Harrison, who is also in charge with Graham Drury, Daz Glover, Mark Huggins, Robbie Williams, Gaz Walters, Dave Frecklington, John Edwards and Kev Ward.

There will also be stalls and a raffle for which donations should be made to Indulge Hair and Beauty in Wharf Road, or call Lauren or Emily on 01476 591020.

Admission to the game is £3 with all proceeds going to Alana. Kick-off is 2pm.
