Grantham Town throw open their doors to members of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces for the game against Trafford at The Meres tomorrow (Saturday).

All serving members of the Armed Forces are welcome for free to the game against Trafford on production of their Armed Forces Card.

The two teams will be led out by former Royal Engineer David Jones. David completed 19 years service and was awarded medals for UN duty in Cyprus, service in Northern Ireland, long service and conduct and for the Silver Jubilee from 1977, when his squadron built and painted the Royal box in Sennelager

David carried in the Union flag for the British Legion into St Wulfram’s at the remembrance service and will be attending with his wife Lorraine.

Also in attendance will be Cheryl Levett, the Information Support Officer for Grantham HIVE at the Prince William of Gloucester Barracks.

Poppies will be on sale outside the turnstile pre-match and a minute’s silence will also be observed.

Yesss Electrical are sponsoring the match and the MCS Centre is running a promotion of £1.40 for a pint of Carling – for the first 80 pints.
