Grantham Town’s joint managers had an independent assessor analyse the Gingerbreads’ performance in Saturday’s 3-2 home defeat to Hednesford Town.
The results’ main revelation was that Grantham gave away too many free kicks in their own half – 19 times in all. But on the plus side, their back four only lost three headers all game.
Co-manager Jimmy Albans said: “Overall the positives in the report outweighed the negatives. We are doing good things for three-quarters of the game. We need to expand that.”
Albans said that he and fellow boss Wayne Hallcro, together with the squad, were appreciative of the level of support received, despite the defeats. Albans said: “Getting the positive reaction as they are coming off the pitch has given them a big lift. We hope we can give everyone something to sing and shout about for longer.”
Give the Gingerbreads your support when they play at home to Chorley on Saturday (October 27), kick-off 3pm, and again at The Meres on Tuesday night when they take on Buxton, kick-off 7.45pm.
