Wootton Blue Cross 0

HARROWBY United were quick off the mark and enjoyed a very comfortable win, as they continued to find their feet in the UCL.

Only two minutes were on the clock when Simon Bolland stole the ball in midfield and fed Bobby Lee whose shot from the edge of the box looped up and over Wootton’s stranded goalkeeper and into the net.

The Arrows were two up inside 10 minutes when great work down the left from Lee Shaw saw his low and hard cross turned into his own net by one of Wootton’s centre-backs.

The first half continued with Harrowby making all the headway but unable to add a third, although on 40 minutes Scott Webb volleyed over from inside the six-yard box.

Neither team found any rhythm in the second half as the game became scrappy. Wootton, for all their possession, failed to force a save from Arrows keeper Jack Drury.

Late in the game, Harrowby should have increased the margin of victory but Shaw failed to convert a one-on-one, and Andy Glencross needed too much time when set up after a great run from man-of-the-match Shaw.

Harrowby: Drury, Hill (Firman), Gibson, Whyley, Hodgkin (c), Lee (Harper), Bolland, Stubbs, Webb, Wormall (Glencross), Shaw.

l Harrowby United are running a coach to their fixture at Buckingham Town on Saturday, leaving their Harrowby Lane ground at 11am. Cost is £5.
