Harrowby United 0

Stamford 1

ARROWS gave Stamford a real fright but just lacked a cutting edge against former United boss Graham Drury’s back four.

The first half was fairly even with Simon Bolland and Hill causing problems for Stamford. The visitors had a good spell with Sam Mullarkey testing Lakin a couple of times, but he was equal to everything.

Harrowby’s best chance fell to Harper after good work by Shaw, but the Stamford keeper made a good save to his left.

After keeping a good shape for most of the half, the Arrows conceded a soft goal, with Andy Hall punishing Harrowby’s lack of concentration.

Harrowby set up in a 3-5-2 formation for the second half and looked comftable, but they could still not find a way past the solid Stamford back line.

Despite the loss, United could be proud of their efforts, generally matching their opponents who play two leagues higher.
