Rustons 2

Barrowby 3

With both teams in fine form, the opening 10 minutes were very even on an unfamiliar 3G pitch for Barrowby.

The visitors then started to get on top and went in front when Rui Cardoso came forward out of defence and played a great ball for David Croke to finish.

Barrowby were then awarded a free kick which Cardoso floated into the box for Ryan Evans to coolly chip the keeper.

Rustons then have a spell of pressure and pulled a goal back before the break.

In the second half, Rustons had a spell of pressure again and eventually equaliseed.

With five minutes remaining, the Ruston’s striker bursts through on goal and the points looked to be theres, but Liam Asplen pulled off a fantastic save down to his left and tipped the ball around the post.

Barrowby went close twice before Croke burst through in the final minute and fired home the winner from 22 yards.

Joint man of the match went to David Croke and Ross Hollingworth in a great team performance.
