Great Ponton started brightly with Brendan Dixon going close to scoring.

Striker Macauley Hughes went past three Wragby defenders before narrowly missing the target but, against the run of play, the visitors took the lead.

Another good run by Hughes saw Eliot Hutchinson go close, but Ponton remained 1-0 down at half time.

The home side roared back after the break and equalised when Eliot Hutchinson hit home.

Josh Brain headed over from a good Oliver Hutchinson cross before Wragby regained the lead from a thunderbolt shot.

Ponton replied again when Eliot Hutchinson headed in from a Dixon cross.

Hughes was not to be denied and stabbed home his strike to give Ponton a deserved victory.

Man of the match was shared between strikers Eliot Hutchinson and Macauley Hughes.

Barrowby 2

Sleaford Town 0

A first crack at Mid Lincs football saw Barrowby go about their business in a very determined fashion, despite a little apprehension.

Both teams started brightly and looked very solid. Barrowby’s midfield took hold of the game, creating chances for Wright, Hands and Cullen.

Sleaford had a few dangerous moments, especially from corners, but stand-in keeper Read and his defence stood firm.

In the second half, Sleaford started to struggle to cope with the pace of Barrowby’s forwards but looked dangerous on the counter-attack.

Man of the match Federson marshalled his his team well throughout.

In the 60th minute, Barrowby were awarded a penalty when Down was fouled in the area . Edwards put the spot kick wide and with the score still 0-0 at full time, the game went into extra time.

Barrowby took the lead in the first half of extra time from a corner. Down whipped it in and there was Edwards to nod the ball home .

The home side scored the second and decisive goal in the second period of extra time from the penalty spot.

It was fired in by Wright after a hand ball was awarded from a free kick by Down after Hands had been fouled on the edge of the area .

Barrowby now have to travel to Swineshead in the next round .

Hampton 0

Grantham Town 1

The game started briskly with both sides looking up for the challenge.

The first chance fell to Harrison but his shot was saved by the Hampton keeper. The first corner of the game also fell to Grantham Town. Harrison provided the delivery and Tom Andersen’s header went just wide.

Hampton began to apply some pressure and a mistake in the box provided their first clear opportunity. From the resulting penalty, James made a fantastic save and gathered well.

A great ball from Jack provided Harrison with an opportunity which was dealt with by the opposition’s keeper. Harrison’s headed ball was received by Nathan who shot just wide.

Following the restart, some great individual work from Lewis Brady resulted in a low level shot forcing a save from the Hampton keeper.

Josh received the ball on the right and his high looping ball into the box was gathered by the home side stopper.

Lewis Brady had another chance which forced a save from the Hampton keeper and further chances fell to Tom, Harrison and Lewis Brady.

The breakthrough came when Jacob delivered a fantastic corner which Harrison headed past the keeper.
