Ancaster Gladiators 2

Great Ponton Spartans 4

Two goals in the last five minutes of an entertaining match saw Great Ponton Spartans through to the quarter-finals of the cup.

Gladiators opened the scoring after Olly Poole diverted into his own net, before Spartans captain Tommy Bide equalised for the visitors with one third of the match gone.

The visitors then took the lead after neat link-up play ending with George Patrinos finishing from eight yards out.

The second half saw Gladiators continue their pressing tactics and they were duly rewarded when Ethan Sharp intercepted a defensive pass before going on to equalise 10 minutes from time.

With time running out, a perfectly flighted corner from Rowan Temple-Fielder dropped in front of goal and Patrinos bagged his second from three yards for Spartans to go 3-2 up.

With a couple minutes remaining, Patrinos broke into the box and slid the ball home to complete his hat trick.

Spartans will play Ancaster Centurions in the next round.

Swifts 2

Harrowby 4

Swifts took a deserved lead after eight minutes as the Arrows looked all at sea at Skegness.

Harrowby drew level with a nice finish from Hull and then took the lead just before the break through Down.

The second half saw Hull complete his hat-trick with two more cool finishes, but Harrowby weren’t having things all their own way and Swifts pulled a goal back after some hesitant defending.

But the young Arrows held on and now play local rivals Gonerby in the next round.
