Great Ponton 1
Two local Mid Lincs teams went head-to-head in a fierce and very competitive encounter.
Both sides attacked from kick-off, with Macauley Hughes going close for Ponton. Barrowby were thwarted by the excellent Oliver Hutchinson in goal.
The deadlock was broken after 15 minutes when Ponton’s Matt Rawding found midfielder Charlie Copley who went past two defenders and struck hard and low into the bottom corner.
Barrowby pressed hard but Ponton held firm with Jack Hutchinson and Conor O’Leary immense at the heart of the Ponton defence.
With Brendan Dixon and Josh Allen tireless in defence, the home team’s desire and workrate saw them through to take local price in a brilliant cup tie.

Louth Old Boys 1
Harrowby United 2
Harrowby recorded their first win of the season with a battling performance against a good Louth side in the cup.
Louth scored first when Harrowby failed to clear. McNulty then hit the post for Harrowby before a great shot from Brown from a tight angle put Harrowby level.
The second half saw defiant defending from Eardley and his back four, and United continued to look dangerous on the break.
Brown scored the winner after latching on to a fine long ball from Burton.

Long Bennington 3
Starting slowly, Long Bennington found themselves a goal down after 15 minutes.
The tempo of the game lifted, and a calmly placed finish from Alfie Terry drew his side level.
Second-half goals from Tom Baker and another for Terry saw Bennington home after a workman-like showing.

Barrowby Lions made it safely through to the third round of the league cup with a comprehensive victory.
Man-of-the-match Dominic Foister scored four goals, as did Sam Wright, and a goal apiece for Corey Evans, Ben Cullen, Seb Edwards and Korban Read completed the scoreline .

Yaxley 2 (aet)

For the second time in seven days, Colsterworth Colts lined up against a Yaxley team who had comprehensively beaten them the week before.
However, this Colts side did not shirk from a challenge and, from the first whistle, attacked Yaxley with everything they had.
The Colts found their passing game quickly and the result was that Heppenstall and Rigby stretched the opposition defence, while the Colts defence and keeper dealt with each Yaxley attack when needed.
Colts went 1-0 up in the first half when Weston was able to pounce on a fumble by the Yaxley keeper.
The visitors levelled and the match went into extra time.
This time Yaxley went ahead with a tremendous strike by their right winger.
Gearing was then able to capitalise on an opportunity in the Yaxley box to level the game at 2-2 after extra time.
Unfortunately Colts went down on penalties but both sides agreed it had been an excellent match.
Man of the match was Chris Beresford.
Gonerby started well and early pressure led to a goal for Meffen.
Coates then set up Bramley for Gonerby’s second goal. Their third came after Bramley crossed for Williamson to score.
Bottesford responded but could not break through the Gonerby defence.
Baker and Bramley both went close for Gonerby but were denied by fine saves from the Bottesford keeper.
A goalmouth scramble led to another goal for Baker to make it 4-0 at half time.
Gonerby pressed again in the second half, but Bottesford responded and scored twice to cut the deficit.
Gonerby sealed the win with a fine strike from Coates

Grantham Flames 1
Gonerby started strongly with early shots from Bramley, Robson and Coates.
Bramley slotted home from close range to open the scoring for Gonerby. Their second came when Baker beat the offside trap to score with a neat finish, making it 2-0 to Gonerby at half time.
Bramley and Rowlett went close before Baker scored again for Gonerby.
Flames responded with a good goal to cut the deficit to 3-1.
Gonerby then took control with two further goals from Coates, a great solo goal from Robson, and three more from Bramley.
