Harrowby United chairman Ian Weatherstone has appointed an interim joint manager to cover for Mark Fardell who requires surgery at the hospital.
Former professional player for Mansfield Town and Lincoln City, Nick Andersen will step into the breach along side co-boss Jay Harrison as the Arrows continue to impress at the top end of the United Counties League Division One.
Ian said: “Nick’s experience shall be of huge benefit to us as we push for promotion and he was an obvious choice.”
Ex-Grantham Town midfielder Nick managed Harrowby for two seasons at the end of the 1990s before leaving to take over the reins at Spalding United. He has been coaching junior football since he left The Tulips and currently runs Grantham Town under-13s.
Nick said: “Ian Weatherstone phoned me and explained the situation with Mark Fardell having an operation and I am very happy to help out. There is a real football club feel about Harrowby now and Mark and Jay have created a very good team.
“I’ve been involved for the last five games and I’m looking forward to helping Jay Harrison for the remaining 18 games and hopefully promotion.”
