Harrowby United grabbed a share of the points with a last gasp stoppage time equaliser against bogey side Thrapston Town at Dickens Road on Tuesday night.

Having twice been beaten at Thrapston, including a league cup exit, the Arrows were keen on gaining revenge in the final game of the season.

After an even start to proceedings, it was the visitors who took the lead after 17 minutes. A free kick from the left into the Harrowby penalty area by Jedd Whiteman eluded everyone and found the far right hand corner of the net.

The Arrows levelled after 33 with a fine individual goal from top scorer Martin Wormall. He gathered the ball on the left hand side, advanced into the Thrapston box and fired home past a helpless Domenico Roggero in the visitors’ goal for his 43rd goal of the season.

Bobby Lee had a shot blocked after 63 minutes and four minutes later, United’s man-of-the-match Sam Kirton set up Wormall who shot straight at the keeper.

The visitors went back in front after 72 minutes following a penalty. Weatherstone brought down Whiteman and Callum Noble stepped up to take the spot kick. Jack Drury in the Harrowby goal saved but was helpless as Noble reacted quickest to fire home the rebound.

With time running out, Harrowby were awarded a free kick on the left. Tom Vorley swung the ball to the far post where Jack Whyley headed the ball back across goal for Simon Bolland to finish with a superb bicycle kick.

Harrowby United: Drury, Weatherstone (Peberdy, 82), Vorley, Hill, Hodgkin (Whyley, 74), Webb (Reidy, 73), Kirton, Bolland, Lee, Wormall, Shaw.
