With the new season now underway, Bottesford FC girls’ section continues to grow in strength. After entering a league team for the very first time last season, the club now has girls’ teams at both under-10 and under-11 age groups in the Leicestershire City and County Girls’ Leagues, playing the likes of Leicester City Ladies amongst others.

There is also a development squad for girls aged five to eight who train each week to learn the basics of the game. Both training and games take place on Sunday mornings in Bottesford, and the club are always looking for new girls of primary school age to join them.

Team manager Matt Burton said: “We are delighted to be able to field two league teams within three years of starting the girls section here at Bottesford FC. Our aim is to create an environment where parents want their daughters to come to learn, play, and enjoy football, and we’d love to welcome more girls into the club during the coming season.”

It is an exciting time for Bottesford FC overall, with plans to develop a brand new clubhouse also in progress, and the club is actively raising funds towards this big project.

If you know anybody who would be interested in joining the girls’ section of Bottesford FC, contact Matt Burton on 07540 935478 or Steve Ryan on 07809 493835.
