The handover.
The handover.

Outgoing captain Mike Nixon handed over the reins to his successor for 2016 Graham Manton at the Stoke Rochford seniors’ annual meeting this week. Jim Price was elected vice-captain.

Officers reported on the past year’s events and plans for the future.

After the meeting, 38 members remained to play the winter warmer which was a foursomes competition.

Winners with 39 points were Brian White and Keith Eddy. Second with 38½ were Eddie Plant and Alan Church, whilst third on countback with 35½ points were Cliff Mills and Simon Mulla, from fourth placed Roy Rowe and Peter Gill.

This result meant that Eddie Plant increased his overall lead to 29 points. Greg Ewart has 24 and Brian White, last year’s champion, has 22 and moved into third place. Seventy-five players have competed so far in the competition which continues, weather permitting, until the end of March.
