Grantham mixed thirds claim good home win

Grantham Tennis Club’s mixed third team played at home to a strong Attenborough side.

The pairings of Pam Aust and Rob Isaac, Mark Ottey and Gail Browne, and David Blanchard with Jeanette Turland won the contest by a scoreline of 70-38.

Grantham Ladies’ team played against a strong Cautnon side, losing out 66-42.

The side comprised Angie Tapson and Kathy Rusby, Bryony and Belinda Thomas and Gaynor Milford and Sue Baxter.

The third mixed indoor league team travelled to Nottingham, with Nigel Birch, Rob Isaac, Sue Cox and Jo Jones defeating Woodthorpe 35-25.

The men’s National Premier League action continued this week, with Grantham hosting a side from the South of Leicestershire.

The Grantham side consisted of Henry Beesley and Richard Cragg, and Andrew Isaac with Seb Darke, who earned their first win of the season with a 3-1 victory.

The mixed doubles first team faced a side travelling from Musters in Nottingham.

Despite having to deal with blustery and wet conditions, Grantham won convincingly 72-36, with Lianne Tapson and Richard Cragg, Andrew Isaac and Megan Jones, and Jon Quinn with Sophie Fletcher on the winning side.
