Grantham's Val Millward and fellow local disabled sailors Di Faulks and Pat Crawley were among those saying goodbye to their boats when the big pink container was packed at Rutland Sailing Club last week.

A team of eight British sailors will be competing in the Hansa World Sailing Championships in Hiroshima, Japan, in October – but the boats have to go much sooner.

The sailors were ably helped by a dedicated band of Rutland Sailability volunteers who spent one day de-rigging, cleaning and labelling and the following day packing everything into the container.

Sponsorship to assist the sailors in the World Championships can be given through The Hansa Class UK.
