Grantham Town announce first player to sign new contract
Grantham Town FC has announced that Michael Holligsworth is the first player to have signed a contract to commit his immediate future to the Ccub for the 2015/16 season.
Gingerbreads chief executive officer Keith Horton said: “We are very pleased that Michael has made this commitment as the club, believe he has an excellent future in the game, and the management team here at the club will give him all the support at our disposal to realise this talent.”
However, it was with regret that Mr Horton also announced the departure of fans’ favourite Sam Purcicoe who recently swept the board at the team’s annual awards.
Mr Horton said: “In recent days, Grantham Town have offered a greatly enhanced contractual agreement to Sam, which we had hoped would see him continue his playing career here at the stadium for the 2015/16 season. Sam has decided that his immediate future lies with Belper Town.”
