Former Ilkeston captain Matt Baker has joined Grantham Town, signing a one year contract, whilst Danny Meadows and Jeremiah Dasaolu have renewed their commitment to the Gingerbreads.

Town manager Adam Stevens has once again been busy adding to his 2017/18 squad by renewing two more of last season’s squad, with the addition of crisis club Ilkeston’s skipper.

Talking about his latest signing, Stevens said: “Matt’s season with Ilkeston was tough for him, but his qualities stood out. He’s a leader and a great talker. Alongside Stefan [Galinski], they’ll be organising those around them.”

The Gingerbreads returned to some light pre-season training this week, with around 20 players in attendance. Of those were Meadows and Dasaolu who have both been rewarded for the efforts last season with a one year contract.

Being unable to register players with the league until next month, Stevens is keeping quiet on who he is looking at to join his squad.

The Gingerbreads also announced this week that they were pleased to have agreed a deal with Streets Chartered Accountants who will continue their sponsorship throughout the upcoming season.
