Grantham Town to play additional pre-season friendly at Sleaford Town tonight

Tonight (Friday) will see a late addition to Grantham Town’s pre-season schedule when they travel to Sleaford Town, kick-off 7.30pm.

And the Gingerbreads will be at home at The Meres on Tuesday night for the visit of King’s Lynn Town, kick-off 7.45pm.

After an impressive second half performance against Lincoln City on Friday which he capped with a goal, Danny Durkin completed Evo-Stik League forms to sign for the Gingerbreads after the game.

A former county youth team leading scorer, Durkin spent last season with Harrowby United where he netted 20 goals in 29 appearances before an ankle injury side-lined him towards the end of the season.

Commenting on the signing, Grantham manager Adam Stevens said: “Danny has done very well in training and got his chance in the second half against Lincoln, and showed that he can make the step up from UCL to Northern Premier. I am delighted to have him on board.”

And 20-year-old Luke Shaw has joined Town from Ilkeston.

Luke had a loan spell at Belper last season. He played in the second half for the Gingerbreads on Friday as a loan player, but has now completed Evo-Stik forms for the club.
