Lincolnshire Secondary Schools’ Floor and Vault competition was held at Grantham Meres leisure centre last Sunday.

Local schools again shone to take some of the top spots, both in the team events and individually.

In the last few years, the girls’ titles have tended to be a battle between KGGS and Walton, and this year was no exception. KGGS managed to win the under 16 girls and Walton the under 13s. Both teams won by narrow margins of 0.4 and 0.3 points respectively above the runners-up spots

Both schools performed some beautifully executed floor routines and generally the standard of vaulting has improved considerably, becoming more powerful and consistent.

There were no teams entered in the boys’ team competitions this year, but Priory Ruskin Academy excelled themselves in the under 13 mixed event to take the top spot above Sir John Gleed, Spalding.

Top individual results: Under 13 Girls Level 1 – 1 Megan Pocock (KGGS), 2 Alisha Sheperd (PRA), 3= Alice Heaton (SWRA), 3= Georgia Dunk-Neale (SJG); Under 13 Girls Level 2 – 1 Chloe Goy (W), 2 Heather Quinn (KGGS), 3 Jessica Castell-Smith (W); Under 13 Boys Level 1 – 1 Oliwier Wnukowski (PRA), 2 Ryan Collingwood (King’s), 3 Kieran Courtman (SJG); Under 13 Boys Level 2 – 1 Joseph Taylor (PRA); Under 16 Girls Level 1 – 1 Izabela Szymak (SJG), 2 Daisy Holmes (KGGS), 3 Molly Aldous-Johnson (W); Under 16 Girls Level 2 – 1 Phoebe Collins (W), 2 Katie Pilgrim (KGGS), 3 Kathleen Sanger (KGGS); Under 16 Boys Level 1 – 1 Morgan Crosbie (St George’s), 2 Tom Charley (PRA), 3 Lucas Kokocinski (PRA); Under 16 Boys Level 2 – 1 Kyle Davidson (PRA); Under 19 Girls Level 1 – 1 Caitlin Ayres (KGGS), 2 Samantha Stevens (SJG), 3 Eleanor Tenant (SJG); Under 19 Girls Level 2 – 1 Kinzi Stokes (SJG); Under 19 Boys Level 2 – 1 George Lodge (PRA), 2 Daniel Watson (King’s), 3 Modestas Kandalovas (SJG).
