Harrowby United concede five with no reply

Leicester Nirvana 5
Harrowby United 0
Harrowby made a midweek trip to league leaders Leicester Nirvana looking for a distinct improvement on a poor weekend performance against Rothwell Corinthians.
Up against a strong attacking outfit, the performance was better but the outcome was similar as the Arrows conceded five goals for the second time in four days.
As expected, the home side made all the early running but a grittier determined edge to Harrowby kept them at bay. The opening goal for Nirvana came after 20 minutes when their tricky wide man Pearson Mwanyongo attacked down the right wing, getting to the byline before cutting the ball back into the path of Alax Pavel who side-footed a shot past a helpless Jonny Hotson, making his debut in the Harrowby goal.
Two minutes later, Hotson got down well to turn behind a low drive from Matt Melbourne and on 27 saved low down from a Pavel shot as Nirvana continued to put the Arrows under pressure.
Harrowby’s first real threat on the Nirvana goal came when a corner from the left saw Billy Stubbs get up to challenge keeper James Flinders, the ball dropping to Rick Brewer who hooked the ball goalwards but over the bar.
Nirvana began the second half as they ended the first, in the ascendancy, and almost grabbed a second goal after 49 minutes when a deep cross from the left found Mwanyongo whose shot from a tight angle deflected off Lewis Watson and the bar.
A second goal arrived after 53 minutes when a left wing cross from Day was headed home by Will Gonga from the edge of the six yard box. The third goal came just before the hour mark when another break down the left was switched over to an unmarked Mwanyongo who slotted home with his right foot.
Two goals in a minute then effectively ended the game as a contest. On 69 minutes, a corner from the left was headed out by Watson only as far as Lamar Parkes, who fired a shot past Hotson from just inside the box. The fifth goal a minute later came from a burst down the right by Mwanyongo who squared the ball inside for Pavel who drilled the ball into the net from around 15 yards.
Harrowby kept battling and forced a couple of chances before the end. Danny Durkin was played through by Brewer for a one-on-one chance, but fired his effort straight at the advancing Flinders. Ten minutes from time, a deep cross from Arrows man-of-the-match Simon Bolland was met by a Sam Hill header which was blocked by Nirvana’s Sean Doy
