Harrowby United learned their opponents for both the FA Cup and FA Vase competitions last Friday and must hit the road in both ties.

The FA Cup extra preliminary round draw saw them get a tough tie against Long Eaton United who last season finished third in the Midland Football League Premier Division, as well as winning their league cup.

The game takes place on August 15 and the club will be running a coach priced at £5 for anyone interested in coming along. The winners will face either Loughborough University or Barrow Town.

In the FA Vase first qualifying round, the Arrows travel to face Eastwood Community in early September.

The recently formed Nottingham club play in the Central Midlands League Southern Division. The winners will be rewarded with a home tie against either Leicester Road or Harborough Town.

l Harrowby play their first pre-season game on Saturday when they entertain Shepshed Dynamo, kick-off 3pm. Entry is £2.

The Arrows have added another pre-season outing when they travel to face Melton Mowbray on Thursday, July 30, kick-off 7.15pm.

l Harrowby United physio Luke Treadwell left the club this week, having secured the same position at Lincoln United. The club thanked Luke for his hard work and wished him well in his new job.

Arrows chairman Jason Lee said: “It’s an ideal job for Luke, being local to Lincoln, and another step up the ladder for him as an ambitious young physio. He was well liked by everyone at the club. We wish him well and will follow his career with interest.”
