HOCKEY: Dry Doddington Shona’s GB team lose final game to concede series to Aussies

Former KGGS student Shona McCallin continued to play her part in Great Britain’s six-match test series against Australia at the weekend.

With the series level, Shona’s GB went into the fifth test on Saturday when the match was drawn 1 -1 to set up a potential deciding final match the following day.

Originally from Dry Doddington, she and her GB team battled valiantly but were narrowly defeated 3-2.

Since playing for years in Holland, Shona now trains exclusively with the GB and England teams.

She will be sure to be in the squad when GB join Australia, Netherlands, USA, Argentina and New Zealand to battle out the Women’s Champions Trophy in London during the summer, with Rio round the corner.
