HOCKEY: Shona’s Great Britain side have Aussie test series in the balance

Hockey news.
Hockey news.

Former KGGS student Shona McCallin has been playing her part in Great Britain’s six-match test series against Australia this week.

Originally from Dry Doddington, she and her GB team lost 4-3 to the home nation, although the visitors could have drawn it had Shona’s backhand shot not gone slightly wide.

GB won the second test 1-0 and have drawn the subsequent two to leave the series on a knife edge with two matches remaining.

The next match is today (Saturday).

Since playing for years in Holland, Shona now trains exclusively with the GB and England teams.
