Isaac Newton Primary recognised with gold sports award

Isaac Newton Primary School has received the Gold Sainsburys School Games Award for 2014-15.

The school achieved this top award for encouraging involve all of its pupils to take part in sport.

They do this by holding breakfast and lunchtime clubs, run by Year 5 and 6 pupils for Key Stage 1 pupils, as well as similar after-school clubs.

The school enters all Primary competitions that are available in Grantham, ranging from netball to tri-golf. Every child who represents Isaac Newton in a school competition receives a team badge for all their hard work and efforts – last year, one of the pupils received a staggering 13 team badges.

The school won two fair play awards last year, also a great achievement.

When any of their sports teams wins a competition, the school rewards them in assemby by playing “We are the Champions”, so the whole school gets involved and can celebrate our achievement.

Needless to say, all of Isaac Newton is very proud to receive the Gold Sainsburys School Games Award.
