Lincolnshire’s county team had five Grantham area players stepping up to the oche in their latest match against Glamorgan at the weekend.
In their fifth inter-county match BICC fixture, Lincs welcomed the very experienced Glamorgan to the Blues Club in Gainsborough.
After a late start things got under way on Saturday with the ladies’ B featuring Sharon Magan from Fulbeck.
Sharon lost her match 3-1 but the team held their opponents to a 3-3 draw.
The Lincs men’s B team held Glamorgan to a 6-6 draw, the highlight being Grantham’s Micky Taylor. He started his match slowly but, after stealing the first two legs, got into his strike and left the stage with a 4-0 win and a single dart average of 25.05.
Also playing were Adam Beck and Richard Selby who both lost 4-3, and Ashley Preston who was defeated 4-2.
Lincs ladies’ A won 5-1 on Sunday to give the team a 14-10 lead going into the men’s A competition which led to a 22-14 overall victory - the first outright win for Lincs in the Premier Division.
