Grantham showjumper Lyn Chorlton won the penultimate Dodson and Horrell 1.10m National Amateur Second Round at Houghton Hall Equestrian Centre, Cambridgeshire, on Sunday.

Forty-eight-year-old Lyn partnered her own 12-year-old bay gelding Simply A Gent to take top spot.

Ten competitors contested the competition, five of whom went through into the jump-off. Three double clears were delivered overall.

Lyn and Simply A Gent benefited from being drawn last to go in the jump-off and they went on to produce an immaculate round to cross the finish line with a double clear in 45.52 seconds.

The win netted the pair one of the direct qualifying places on offer for the Dodson and Horrell National Amateur Championships which take place at Aintree Equestrian Centre next month.
