GOLF: Belton Park captain’s charity raises £5,000

Belton Park captain Rob Bartlett’s charity fund amassed a total of £5,000 last year.

Rob presented a cheque for £2,600 to the Emergency Assessment Unit (EAU) at Grantham Hospital. Sister Rosemary Bull stood in for Sister Rachel Ryder at the presentation.

Donations such as Belton Park’s are used to create a more comfortable environment for patients attending the EAU.

Other charities to benefit from the captain’s charity fund were Help for Heroes and the Disabled Golfers’ Association.

At the club’s annual meeting, Rob thanked the members for their support of his charity fund and wished the beneficiaries continued success in their excellent work.


Andy Milner won Sudbrook Moor’s January “Q” Medal which contributes top Order of Merit points to the annual Senior Golfer of the Year Trophy.

Two shots under the day’s CSS earned Andy a handicap reduction from 18.2 to 17.6, a noteworthy achievement. He also recorded the best gross score of the day.

Runners-up were John Johnson and Frank Brumpton, and twos pot winner John Costall who recorded a birdie on the third hole.

Top points winners below the top three were Ken Wingad, Tony Sealey, Sue Watson and Graham Mackinder.
