There has been a raft of changes going on recently at Belton Park Golf Club.
New head PGA club professional is Mike Timson who left King’s Lynn Golf Club to return to his Lincolnshire golfing roots.
Mike played his early golf around Lincolnshire, going on to play various golf tours before returning to club golf. He brings more than 20 years of professional golfing experience, advice, tuition, club fitting and a fully refurbished professional shop – together with a message that “golf is fun”.
Mike has a team of helpers including Grantham’s only lady professional, Rachel Woodcock, who focus on excellent customer service and listening to the need of individuals.
The shop is open to the public and is now fully refurbished, offering only top quality golf brands such as Ping, Nike, Titleist, FootJoy, Daily Sports, Glenmuir and Under Armour. All stock is 2016 season. The women’s clothing has also increased beyond recognition and there is a fitting room.
Belton Park is now a ‘Get Into Golf – Beginner Centre’ with sessions starting in April for beginners and those wanting to return to golf.
The Junior Academy already meets on Saturday mornings and has doubled since Mike’s arrival this winter. April sees the launch of Sunday Morning Junior Sessions and the Friday night Junior Evenings when they play a few holes and families can relax and try the club’s welcoming facilities.
Existing club members have volunteered to help with the juniors, such is the warm welcome all golfers will receive at Belton Park.
All lessons are personalised with the use of the latest technology and video analysis if needed. Group lessons where non-members are welcome are available now for seniors and ladies to combine fun in golf and making new friends afterwards.
It has been a busy winter at Belton Park which already boasts 27 holes on beautiful parkland amongst the roaming deer and the stunning backdrop of Belton House.
If you are not a member, it is worth going to see Mike and his team; even those who played last summer may not even recognise the improved facilities.
