Matt Haynes emerged as the new club champion of Belton Woods at the weekend.
The two-day club championship saw the 36-hole competition played on the Woodside course on Saturday and on the Lakes course on Sunday.
Matt went round in a score of gross 81 on day one and followed that up with gross 79 the following day to claim the top prize.
Runner-up was defending champion Dan Fowler with gross 74 and 77.
Playing off a three handicap, Dan was also the winner of the net competition over the two days, with Peter Stothard second and David Hitch third.
Net winner on day one was Will Cressey (91-22=69), on countback from Rob Connelly (85-16=69) and Rob Fox (83-14=69). Day two winner was Ryan Lewis (92-21=71), with Peter Stothard (84-12=72) second and Chris Frugtneit (90-16=74) in third.
l Belton Woods head teaching professional Iain Fulton played in a pro-am competition at Sleaford GC on Friday.
In only his third competitive start of the year, Iain made four birdies, with no bogeys, for a four under par 68 to tie first place with Darren Leng of Far Grange Park, Yorkshire.
Iain said: “The course was firm with some flags that were difficult to get close to. The greens were fantastic to putt on.”
