Two of Grantham’s schools performed admirably at the Lincolnshire Schools Championships at Horncastle last Sunday, winning both individual and team awards.
St Mary’s again did well in the under-11 mixed competition, taking the top spot ahead of Sutterton by a clear four-point margin.
Cliffedale finished runners-up in the under-11 girls’ team competition with 75 points, only two behind the winners from Saxilby.
Not to be outdone, in the under-nine age group, Cliffedale again claimed second place in the girls’ team event, with a score of 72.7, just ahead of Cranwell in third place.
Individually in the under-11s, Ryan Collingwood took first place in the boys Level One competition with 18.9, whilst Cliffedale’s Tegan Bickmore was equal third in the girls’
Level Two section, scoring 18.7.
In the Level Two boys’ competition, Jack Barnes and Harry Clements, both from St Mary’s, tied for second place with a score of 19.0
In the younger under-nine age group, Cliffedale’s Olivia Celik took a well deserved individual placing in the Level One category with 18.8.
