Grantham & District Indoor Bowls Club

The annual Sencit Gala was held with six teams taking part – Arnoldfield, Barnstone, Bottesford, Long Bennington, Grantham and Dysart Park.

This year the event was won by Long Bennington with a total of 80 points. Grantham were runners-up with 73 points.

Individual winning rinks were Dysart Park – Joy Hobbs, Anne Collins and Frank Evans – in the first session, and P Hewitt, R. Murphy and Roger Turnbull representing Bottesford in the second session.

l The Joan Hackett Trophy competition is played every year by the ladies in memory of a former Grantham club member.

Twenty-four four players this year played in a triples competition and the highest winning rink was Janet Kell, Ruth Murphy and Shirley Beardsley.

Runners-up, and losing by only one shot, were Shirley Leverett, Brenda Patten and Hilda Whatley.
