Two Vale Judo juniors who started training at the club’s Grantham Meres leisure centre base competed for the first time recently.
James Tasker and Janis Zube entered the Red Belt Rumble in Nottingham and both competitors fought hard to win bronze medals at the event.
Club chief instructor Mike Newton said: “The techniques and effort demonstrated by both players bodes well for their future competitive judo careers.”
Vale Judo is the biggest junior club located in the East Midlands with classes running in Grantham and Bingham, as well as Melton Mowbray, Oakham, Stamford and Loughborough.
