KARATE: Grantham club juniors pass grading

Juniors from a Grantham karate club passed a grading at The Meres leisure centre last week.

The Emzfit Aiwakai Club youngsters first took part in a training session led by one of the world’s best Wado instructors, 8th dan master Sensei Sakigami.

The successful students were Oliver Croston (9th kyu), Jake Vincent (9th kyu), Abigail Quayle (8th kyu), Jude Wright (8th kyu), Benjamin Quayle (5th kyu), Charlie Simons (5th kyu), Thomas Dell (5th kyu), Caitlyn Raynor (5th kyu) and Andrew Tonge (4th kyu). All passed with above average second class grades, with Oliver, Caitlyn and Andrew receiving first class.

The club welcomes beginners and trains on Wednesdays in The Meres leisure centre main hall from 6.45pm, with an advanced group at 7.30pm.

Emzfit will also be holding a three week ladies’ only self-protection course with tuition by Angie Emms and Rosie McGowan.
