England Netball are encouraging women aged 16 and over to make ‘Back to Netball’ their resolution for 2014.
Back to Netball sessions are running nationwide this January and are ideal for ladies who have not taken to the court for a few years, or since school, or anywhere in between. Running across England since 2010, nearly 40,000 women have taken part in sessions and realised the benefits of getting back into the sport.
Lincolnshire Netball development officer Louise Key said: “Back to Netball provides a gentle re-introduction to the sport for ladies of all ages and abilities. Sessions are coach-led and cover the basics, from chest passes to shooting.
“Whether it is about rediscovering sporting abilities you forgot you had, losing a few pounds or making new friends, these sessions have something for everyone.
“Re-introducing the sport to ladies who perhaps haven’t played since school is very rewarding. Many have forgotten how much they loved playing, but I am happy to remind them.
“It’s great for getting fit, having fun and making friends. It is also perfect for helping to hit numerous resolutions this January.”
The sessions will take place every Monday at The Meres leisure centre and run from 7pm until 8pm, and 8pm until 9pm. Cost per session is £3 each or £5 for both.
