MARTIAL ARTS: 100 per cent pass rate at Grantham grading

Grantham Aiwakai Wado-Ryu Karate Club held a grading with world master and 8th Dan, Kuniaki Sakagami.

All students passed their examinations and sensei Sakagami was very pleased with the high standard shown by them all.

The students all worked hard towards attaining their grades, putting in extra training sessions to achieve their goals. The successful students were: Rebecca Simmonds, Jude Wright, Abigail Qualye – 9th Kyu Kaan Yaldiz; Jack Goode, Graham Cooley – 7th Kyu; Thomas Dell, Charlie Simons, Caitlyn Raynor, Benjamin Qualye - 6th Kyu; Bethany Ivermee, Josha Bailey – 3rd Kyu.

l The club is run by Angie Emms (5th Dan) who is also a worldwide member of Aiwakai’s technical commitee. They train every Wednesday evening at The Meres leisure centre, beginners at 6.15pm and adults and advanced at 7.30pm.

The club also runs an adult “combat cardio” class in Grantham every Friday at St Anne’s Church hall in Harrowby Road at 6.45pm.
