MARTIAL ARTS: National Tae Kwon-Do silver for Daniel

GRANTHAM martial artist Daniel Pearce finished second to won the silver trophy in the Tae Kwon-Do English Championships held at Telford International Centre last Sunday.

Twenty-nine-year-old Daniel (pictured) put on a skilful display in the men’s black-belt fourth degree and higher division, against a field of more than 80 competitors from all over Great Britain, in one of the most prestigious events of the competition.

Daniel, a fourth degree black-belt, trains at the Grantham King’s School Tae Kwon-Do Club under the guidance of area chief instructor Malcolm Scholes, a seventh degree black-belt.

Daniel is back training this week in preparation for the next event in the club’s calendar, the Lincolnshire Tae Kwon-Do championships which the club will host at The Meres leisure centre on Saturday, April 28.
