Squash playing youngster Louie Truman finished a creditable second in the Sutton Junior Open at the weekend.

Contesting the under-11 category, six-year-old Louie played beyond his years to collect the runner-up trophy and a £15 sports voucher for his efforts.

He defeated Ben Hay 2-0 in the first round of the competition and beat Luke Sanders by the same score in the next round to take him through to the final.

Despite putting in a great effort, Louie lost 2-0 to Eben Palmer in the final.

Louie has been playing since he was five years old at Grantham Squash Club, where he is coached by Martin Gibson, and is pictured with Sutton Junior Open organiser Andy Hay.
