The annual meeting of Grantham and District Table Tennis League was held last week.

Chairman Matt Weavers said last season had once more been a great success with some competitive matches in all three divisions.

In addition, he thanked all that supported the new Summer League which he said had been a huge success, and enjoyed by all the players concerned.

The committee was re-elected by unanimous vote from the teams present, and the chairman thanked everyone for their work last season.

Financially, members were told the league was in a good position, having b een boosted by a legacy from the recently wound-up Ruskington. The committee agreed to use some this money to form a new junior league for next summer.

Trophies were presented to last season’s winners by long-standing president Peter May who, in his closing word, congratulated the winners and said members should be proud that the league has run since its formation in 1936.

The new season will start again in October and the committee is working on plans to increase the amount of matches in each division to make it a longer season.
