Two families from Corby Glen Tae Kwon-Do Club brought home a total of five trophies between them from the Midlands Championships.
Frances Arnold finished second in the ladies’ red belt patterns, winning silver for the club, and then went on to win gold in the ladies’ red belt sparring. Daughter Rose (14) put on a fine display to win bronze in the girls’ red belt patterns.
Later in the day, Philip Lee fought through several pre-liminary rounds to the final of the men’s blue belt welterweight sparring, which he won, lifting gold.
His daughter, Charlotte (10), displayed a fine pattern to win bronze in the girls’ blue belt division.
More than 800 competitors took part in the event which was hosted by the Tae Kwon-Do Association of Great Britain.
Kettering Sports Village hosted the action.
George Allen took part in his first tournament as a black belt, which he gained earlier in the year, and won bronze in the lightweight sparring.
There was success also for Elliot Cuff who won gold in the men’s blue belt middleweight sparring.
The club continues to train throughout the summer holidays at the Ron Dawson Memorial Hall.
