A member of Grantham Youth Bowling Club is set to represent England at the weekend.

Sixteen-year-old Katie Tagg is due to play for the English team in the Triple Crown Trophy competition which is taking place in Coventry.

Players from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales will bowl as teams and also as individuals.

Katie currently holds the Junior Irish Open title and is up for selection for the European team in 2015.

She is sponsored by Grantham Bowl and will be making an appearance at a free taster session on next Wednesday (August 27) between 10am and noon.

The event is being put on by Grantham Youth Bowling Club for children aged seven to 17. It is run by BTBA registered instructors who run a Junior Bowling League on Saturday mornings from September to July.

Grantham Bowl owner Albert Slator said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to sponsor Katie. She is an exciting young talent who will represent both ourselves and her country to the very best of her ability.”
